295. Provenance: Tribal, possibly Kurdish or Lori, Iran

Age: Circa 1960

Size: 220 x 127 cm

Condition: Very good.

Notes: This is a shocker in a good way! I've rarely seen a rug with more outrageous colours. Not everybody's taste, but I personally love it (I must have done as I bought it!). This has pure tribal extravagance of design and colour, showing a free-flowing and exuberant joy for life. What's not to like? Soft wool, and (dare I say it?) not entirely natural dyes.
