325. Provenance: Heriz, North West Persia/Azerbaijan

Age: Circa 1910-20

Condition: Very good.

Notes: I adore this runner and its the only such Heriz I've seen. It has a wonderful naive interpretation of the 'Herati' all over floral repeat pattern. It is often refered to as the 'mahi' or fish pattern because of the resemblance of the leaves to leaping fish. In this case, they actually are fish, which I find a charming reading of the pattern. Natural dyes, and soft hand-spun wool. A beauty.
